“When I am attached to anything; however much good there may be in it, I will be stiffled.
For whether it be a strong three chord rope or a slender and delicate thread that holds the bird, it matters not; for until the cord be broken, the bird cannot fly.” -- Saint John of the Cross

OUCH!! Mer, that hurts!! I'm not ready yet, tho'....... My son is almost two, and still sleeps with me, in spite of daddy's many, well-voiced, sometimes loud protests. But, he's my last one, and I want it to last..... Do I HAVE to let him go???
Hailey started first grade yesterday. Does she HAVE to grow up so fast??
Janessa doesn't like it when I go to work- I think she's the one with attachment issues!!
Sigh... I know you're right, but that doesn't make it any less painful..... Can it be a slow process, at least??? For they each hold my heart in their hands....
Thanks for the thought provoker (again!).
Love,
Rachel
Hello Rachel,
So extremely nice to read your thoughts. What a precious girl you have always been Rachel!! Nothing changed!!
You have many years left, but let me warn you they do go too quickly. I think the deal is when they fly away for good and leave the nest; we have completed that segment of our and their life. Only if they choose to fly back to your nest from time to time or invite us to their nest; it is a calling that you do finish.
What I posted is so right in theory. Please understand because I wrote that, does not mean I am living that. I am trying though!!!
When I actually live what I am preaching, I will write a post of all posts to tell all how I got there!! Meanwhile....................
Merrily,
Can you hear my amen all the way from California?
Love ya,
Lisa
My O My!!! Lisa, seems like a life time ago since I have seen you. So much gone down for both of us AYE!!!
You have done a great job of letting go. A definate example to me. I admire the relationship you have with Kyle and Amanda.. Great parents....
Never mind holding our little birdies with a chord or slender string,,,, try a bear trap.... LOL
I am learning though, you would be well pleased I believe!!!
Can't wait to see you perhaps this fall!!!! Your gift for hosting the dinner for Luke and Court will be here waiting!!!
Amen, Mer,
So hard to let go!
Hey Tina,
It is!!!
Bear trap, Mer? I was thinking more along the lines of a... well, something a little bigger and harder to get out of. Your wisdom is greatly appreciated. You are a wonderful example- I wish we were closer so I could learn more from you. Thanks for sharing your heart!
I wish we were closer too Rachel, so I could learn from you!!!!!!
